THE LIFE AND DEATH OF MARINA ABRAMOVIC

Directed by Robert Wilson
Starring  Marina Abramovic, Antony and Willem Dafoe

PARK AVENUE ARMORY   New York   December 12th - 21st  2013

Loving everything Willem Dafoe at the moment. Stunning photo shoot in Another Man Magazine of Willem Dafoe interviewed by his friend and collaborator artist Marina Abramovic. Willem Dafoe and Marina Abramovic also star in the clip above of Antony and the Johnsons CUT THE WORLD*. I just cannot get enough of Antony's voice. SMH's Bernard Zuel once wrote 'Antony can break your heart into pieces so small you fear it can never be put right again'. CUT THE WORLD was recorded live in Copenhagen with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra. It features a collection of songs from the band's ANTONY AND THE JOHNSONS, I AM A BIRD NOW, THE CRYING LIGHT and SWANLIGHTS albums and appearing for the first time CUT THE WORLD from THE LIFE AND DEATH OF MARINA ABRAMOVIC. Great excuse for a trip to New York in December, like you ever needed one!

Anish Kapoor. MCA. Sydney

I always seem to get to any exhibition in the last week or the last day and then I find myself unable to breathe because a million other people are doing the same thing. ANISH KAPOOR at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney was no exception, but it was worth it.

Also showing is Volume One: MCA Collection where I was very happy to see Shaun Gladwell's Storm Sequence 2000. It's been years since I first saw this beautiful piece. Bondi Beach is amazing in the rain and Shaun Gladwell is so graceful, drop in and see it or any of the other works on show. Even if you're just around in your lunch break, the MCA is free, you'll love it.

Beautiful Mail

This is the most beautiful mail I have ever received. It would have been special in an era before email and SMS but today when even Christmas cards are electronic and come via email and Birthday greetings come via SMS I feel blessed that someone has sent me something so personal and so beautiful.

I saw this post by photographer Ivan Terestchenko* on his wonderful blog. It is from his friend artist Beth Nelson, you must see the entire post. These pictures make me wonder when it was that I gave up on such beauty and I vow to do better in the future.
